Burgopak Worldwide Production Network 17/04/2007 Upon securing a worldwide packaging contract for a mobile phone company, Burgopak realised that they would need to upgrade their worldwide communications infrastructure to cope with the new volume and to meet the demands of the customer. Pro2col was tasked with designing, implementing and assisting in running the project from the UK.With the hub of the operation located in London and satellite creative offices in Chicago, Boston and Berlin the challenge was to get the content back to London for repurposing and then delivering it on to the production facility in China. StingRay solutions were installed at each of the creative sites to deliver back to the London office using nVerge as a fail-over. By installing firewalls at each of the remote locations Pro2col is able to remotely manage the connections and support the users using the remote solutions. The data once received and processed by the London operation is then delivered to China using nVerge to make use of pause and resume and SSL encryption of files in transit. The combinations of products were chosen to take advantage of specific features to provide the most robust solution. StingRay servers were deployed at each site to send to one another using the Leonardo/IP protocol to minimise and data corruption. With production carried out in China the issues were time differences and recent unreliable Internet connections. nVerge servers were chosen so that we could schedule the delivery of the files to coincide with times when the office was closed and the maximum bandwidth was available. Pro2col manages communications solutions for a number of companies including Burgopak, Telegraph Group, News International and Nature Publishing. If you would like to discuss how Pro2col can help your company to deliver production data both nationally and internationally, call James on 0870 250 2220.
