Secure file transfer methods

FTPS is an extension for the FTP protocol. SFTP provides secure file transfer over SSH. Both FTPS and SFTP protocols are supported by most dedicated FTP clients.

HTTPS provides encrypted uploads and downloads over the web within any web browser.

FTP-Stream is designed for maximum security. Where security is a high priority subscribe to our additional Encryption module to ensure secure file transfer and secure cloud storage for your data.

FTP-Stream is a secure cloud file sharing service enabling you to transfer large files using FTP, SFTP or any web browser. Detailed management of user access is available on the web based control panel.

Create and manage user logins to provide access to your site. By default users are jailed to their home folders with no visibility outside. However you can setup shared folders for project teams, selectively granting rights such as upload, download, delete, overwrite, and more …

In addition to dedicated private logins you can enable Public access folders to make files available for general download – for example brochures, PDFs, price lists, policy documents, tender documents, specifications, manuals or brand guidelines.

Set up is simple. Set the fonts and colors you want to use on your site and upload your logo to complete your branded file transfer solution.

To complete your identity and branding you can setup a site address within your domain, e.g. http://fileshare.myDomain.com. Since every FTP-Stream site has a fixed and permanent IP address it’s just a matter of checking your IP on the control panel and then get your IT or service provider to add an “A” record in your DNS settings.

Each FTP-Stream site has a fixed and permanent IP address. With a dedicated IP for your FTP space you can setup a site address using your domain, for example http://filetransfer.MYCOMPANY.com.

By branding your site with your logo fonts and colors and using a URL within your company domain, your FTP space integrates seamlessly with your organization’s web presence.

Five optional modules are available for our FTP-Stream file transfer service. On sign up or at any time you can add these options to provide additional functionality or security for your cloud file transfers.

Automations
Setup notifications for uploads and downloads. Choose a folder to watch, as soon as a transfer session completes a message is sent with full details. You can set the message sender and recipients as well as tailor the body of the message.

This module also provides automated deletes. Setup rules so that files over X days old in a watched folder are automatically deleted.

Encryptions
Where security is paramount your file transfers can be encrypted using any of the three common encrypted methods: FTPS, HTTPS and SFTP (FTP over SSH).

FTPS and SFTP protocols are supported by most dedicated FTP clients. HTTPS provides encrypted uploads and downloads within your web browser.

Video Streaming
Videos on FTP-Stream cloud files service can be downloaded or streamed for immediate preview.

Virus Checking
An extra precaution. Scan uploaded files for viruses and other threats. Infected files are moved to a quarantine folder and an e-mail is sent to the address you specify.

Extended authentication
Set a password. Allow users to change their password, force periodic password changes and enforce strong passwords.

Your FTP-Stream site is backed up every hour on the hour. We call these backups snapshots – they are a complete snap of your site frozen in time.

We keep your snapshots for 12 weeks, you can list your snapshots, explore the contents of each snap and restore any files or folders that may have been accidentally deleted or overwritten.

Your site is backed up locally at your chosen data center. Unless you are using our replication feature your files are never copied outside your chosen data center and we keep no persistent backups beyond the 12 week snapshot cycle.
