Hermstedt Leonardo X4 offers easy communication over two or four ISDN channels. This universal, active ISDN card supports beside 3.3 and 5 Volt PCI slots also the PCI-X slot with which now most new computers are equipped, particularly Apple's G5 Macintosh of the frist generation (important: not compatible to PCI Express slot which equips the new Apple Power Mac G5 with Dual/Quad processor).
Leonardo X4 is the perfect solution for PCs with Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, 2003 Server, and Linux, as well as for Apple Macintosh.
Leonardo X4 can be used in individual computers as well as in the most demanding communication servers. It offers all the familiar functionalities and advantages expected from the worldwide best selling Hermstedt Leonardo range, such as automatic protocol detection on incoming calls (no need to configure separate numbers for different remote sites), multiple simultaneous receiving sessions, powerful and mutli-protocol file transfers (also with channel bundling and on-the-fly compression), fast Internet access, remote access connections, or terminal server services.
It is possible to use multiple Leonardo cards in one computer. As they are active cards with their own processor, they are ideal for communication servers with many simultaneous connections. Even with high loads, stable operation is guaranteed.
Traditional modem applications can also be used with ISDN. Under Windows this is achieved with a virtual COM port, on a Macintosh with the help of the Communication Manager application.
The package comes with ISDN drivers and a licence for Leonardo Internet Express (for Macintosh) resp. Leonardo Express (for Windows) software for multi-protocol file transfer.
