AES

AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) is an encryption algorithm or standard used to secure sensitive data.  AES is a symmetric block cipher that encrypts (enciphers) and decrypts (deciphers) electronic information.

Evaluated and initiated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, AES was adopted by the US government in 2002.  It is one of the most popular algorithms used in symmetric key cryptography since it became a replacement for DES.

AES comprises of 3 block ciphers and currently supports 128, 192 and 256-bit keys and encryption blocks, but may be extended in multiples of 32 bits.

Please see here for more information regarding fast file transfer products built using AES.
